Former television studio transforms into a sustainable precinct

Ardency Kennedy Place

Located at a former television studio in Richmond, the vibrant and sustainable precinct integrates townhouses, vertical retirement living and aged care accommodation.

The design draws inspiration from the iconic Federation-era red brick buildings of the neighbourhood, while paying homage to the former Nine Network studio’s colourful past.

The development will incorporate a range of new public open spaces, and communal and retail facilities for use by both the residents and broader community. An emphasis on pedestrian friendly spaces, landscaped gardens and visual connectivity though the site to help to create a strong sense of place within the precinct.

A site-wide datum, layered façade detailing and materiality allow for a transition in scale between the smaller row housing and the taller apartment building. The design responds to the textures, rhythm, depth and shadow play found within the neighbouring fine grain residential and heritage context. The overall effect is a development that thoughtfully stitches into the neighbourhood.

Ardency Kennedy Place will comprise 116 one, two and three bedroom spacious apartments across eight levels, complemented by a full suite of amenities, including a 40 seat cinema, library, rooftop vegetable patch and function and activity spaces. A premium wellness centre will encompass an indoor pool, gym and yoga and pilates rooms.
