Australia’s first CLT extension was named one of the world’s top 10 tallest mass-timber buildings for its transformation of a concrete building into the 69.7-metre-tall hotel Adina Hotel.

As part of Dezeen’s Timber Revolution series, the influential architecture and design magazine has named 55 Southbank Boulevard one of the top tallest mass-timber buildings around the world.

Adding a 10-storey cross-laminated timber (CLT) extension on top of the existing building in Melbourne provided 15,000 square metres of new floor space and 220 new hotel rooms, demonstrating the incredible potential of mass timber in building tall structures.
