Purity of Geometry
BDO’s new Melbourne workplace occupies Collins Place, an iconic precinct designed by IM Pei and Bates Smart. The interior design responds to both the building’s bold architectural language and BDO’s national workplace strategy, delivering a flexible, hybrid environment capable of adapting to future growth.
The design concept, ‘Purity of Geometry,’ draws inspiration from the space-frame roof, translating its triangular and square forms into grid ceilings, screening and repeated architectural elements. This disciplined language establishes order and cohesion while allowing moments of warmth through materiality and texture. A contemporary homage to the building’s 1970s origins is expressed through chrome detailing, rich upholsteries, sculptural planting and a warm, refined palette.
