Share your story at Orica House
To celebrate this year’s theme, Stories of the City, Open House Melbourne and Bates Smart invite you to share your story in the Bates Smart Gallery.
Visitors are invited to contribute a unique story, anecdote, or memory during the Open House Melbourne Weekend on Saturday July 26 + Sunday July 27. Join us at the Bates Smart Gallery, then for a guided tour of Orica House by our very own team.
Completed in 1958, Orica House (originally known as ICI House) is considered Australia’s first skyscraper. The building was the first to break Melbourne’s height restrictions, setting a precedent within the city. The freestanding, fully-glazed curtain wall skyscraper is considered Bates, Smart & McCutcheon’s most refined building of the post-war era.
