Seeking the ideal in vertical urbanism

CTBUH International Conference

Tall Excellence

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) International Tall Excellence conference kicks off tomorrow in Chicago, seeking a new order in vertical urbanism in the face of today’s social, economic, and environmental challenges.

Julian Anderson, Bates Smart Director, will present a case for future sustainable living in his talk “Build to Rent, Rent to Live: How HOME Southbank is Defining Australian Multi-family Development.”

Julian will also be presenting our tall timber adaptive reuse project at 55 Southbank Boulevard, which is in the running for the Renovation Award, having won an Award of Excellence with Hume Partners earlier this year.

And Managing Director Philip Vivian is Jury Chair for Best Tall Building Award 100-199m – a busy week ahead in Chicago!
