A conversation tackling some of the biggest social issues facing our profession

Tuesday Talks

Affiliations: Bates Smart x EM BE CE

Last week we hosted the second Tuesday Talk in the Affiliations series. Bates Smart and EM BE CE partnered up to exchange ideas about how each firm is dealing with some of the most important social issues facing our profession.

Curated by the Australian Institute of Architects with Andrew Burns, the talk series addresses the pressing need for re-establishing relationships across practices, and making our profession tangible.

Thanks to all those who joined us for the conversation, which tackled big thinking ideas including climate emergency, social equity and rapid urbanisation. Special thanks to the EM BE CE Directors – Mladen Prnjatovic, Chi Melhem and Ben Green – who shared the hot seat alongside Bates Smart’s own Philip Vivian, Kellie Payne and Matt Davis, and also to Olivia Hyde who moderated the panel. Check out some of the evening’s moments below.
