From strategic briefing and concept design through to practical completion, Kellie has played a lead role on numerous high profile projects both in Australia and overseas, bringing creative solutions to strategic thinking. Her expertise is instrumental to the design of commercial office buildings, innovative workplaces and world class learning environments. As leader of the Bates Smart Workplace Strategy team her experience has led to the creation of some of the most innovative workplaces in Australia, driving strategic and cultural change for these businesses. In addition, she regularly consults, designs and delivers tertiary education spaces, including Sydney’s first vertical campus for Navitas at 255 Elizabeth Street.

Kellie has excellent communication and analytical skills. Many clients embed her into their commercial real estate and transformation teams to ensure the delivery of their business strategy into their workplace outcome. Kellie has also created and continues to co-author the Bates Smart Whitepaper Publications. This thought leadership series draws on an extensive database to analyse, track and forecast innovations in design and design strategy.

She is regularly sought after to discuss these issues in the mainstream media and to present her findings at workplace, education and industry conferences.

Kellie joined Bates Smart in 2007, became an Associate in 2009, an Associate Director in 2010, a Studio Director in 2016 and Director in 2018.
