Diversity and Inclusion
We are passionate about narrowing the culture and gender gap, and we are proud of our multi-cultural, gender-balanced team.
Diversity is increasingly recognised as not only contributing to a more just and equitable society, but also as delivering measurable economic and intellectual benefits to every organisation that embraces it.
Bates Smart is committed to diversity and inclusion in how we work, who we work with and who our staff are. We have committed to achieving a target of 40/20/40 gender parity across all roles and levels and are actively exploring other ways for integrating diversity.
In addition, we are founding members of the Male Champions of Change, and also sit on the Australian Institute of Architects Gender Equity taskforce. We are currently working toward becoming an employer of choice under the WGEA, and have flexibility and parental leave policies aligned with achieving that status.
In a broader commitment to diversity, we are active sponsors of Career Trackers, supporting indigenous students through their architecture studies.
