Won through a City of Sydney Design Excellence Competition, our vision for 130 Elizabeth Street is a contemporary tower that contributes to the historic significance and civic nature of Hyde Park’s urban room. We aim to simultaneously hold and terminate the southern edge of Hyde Park, while creating a dynamic corner expression.

The design creates two distinct building typologies; a podium that responds to the scale and form of the context, and a tower that complements the scale, materiality and fenestration of its Hyde Park context.

The recessed entry to the residential apartments announces the apartment entry and provide additional public domain for the increased activity. A canopy runs the length of Elizabeth Street and serves as a literal extension of the facade, providing a robust base to the building.

The apartments have been designed to maximise amenity, functionality and aesthetic. External sunshade elements have been carefully considered so that views are not obstructed. The internal material palette is refined and rich in texture and variation, sitting in harmony with the external facade and the stunning parkside setting.
